STONES COURT ALMSHOUSES

Alterations and extension to the Mary Duncan Building.

Planning permission has been granted for the proposal to refurbish and extend Mary Duncan Building in St Clements Oxford.

The proposals involve upgrading and extending the existing accommodation to provide larger bathroom and kitchen spaces with accessible facilities. To achieve the larger space requirements the proposal is to extend the building on the west side - facing onto Alma Lane with a two storey stone and rendered extension with a hipped roof. The resulting space created by the extensions allow the internal space of the flats to be re-configured forming a large shower room with walk-in shower and much needed additional storage space.

The work is programmed to start in the summer of 2017 and will be carried out in two phases of four flats each. This will allow the maximum flexibility regarding the accommodation and overall less disturbance to the residents. The works will take approximately nine months to complete.
