HRH the Prince of Wales visits St Stephen's House Oxford

HRH the Prince of Wales visits St Stephen's House Oxford on 4 February to commemorate the opening of St John the Evangelist Church.

Robert and Tarusha were privileged to be part of the ‘building conservation team’ invited to meet HRH the Prince of Wales at the official unveiling of the plaque to commemorate the opening of the Church of St John the Evangelist on 4 February 2013.

Montgomery Architects have been involved with the sensitive refurbishment including works to provide underfloor heating to the church, roof repairs, glazing of the cloisters window openings and new washroom facilities.

St Stephen's House is a theological College and a permanent private hall of the University of Oxford. The Victorian Grade I listed Church of St John the Evangelist forms part of these buildings. The Church and adjoining cloisters are still in the process of undergoing major restoration and refurbishment, not only for the future life of the Church, but also to adapt the building for wider use to the public as a concert venue and exhibition display area.

This project is intended to provide Oxford with an outstanding new public venue and enable St Stephen's House to secure the Church’s future.
